Elbit Systems UK commences operating the Royal Navy Maritime Composite Training System (MCTS)

11 May 2022

London, 11 May 2022 – Elbit Systems UK has officially started operating the existing Maritime Composite Training System (MCTS) in the next step of its Royal Navy Transformation programme within Team Fisher. Team Fisher is the Capita-led consortium modernising and transforming the Royal Navy and Royal Marines shore-based training. This marks a significant milestone for Elbit Systems UK’s role as the Synthetic Training Integrator, and is a key step in the modernisation of the Royal Navy’s training as part of the Selborne Programme.

As part of this transfer of responsibility, Elbit Systems UK will be taking on over 60 further personnel across a range of roles from engineering to manufacturing in locations across the UK.

With Royal Navy warship and submarine warfare team trainers now operated and managed by Elbit Systems UK the company will be central to providing a complete suite of training courses to Royal Navy sailors deployed at sea.

The systems lie at the heart of maintaining operational readiness for the Royal Navy, and Elbit Systems UK will provide continuous upgrades throughout the lifespan of the current systems to assist the Royal Navy in remaining at the cutting-edge of operational readiness.

Working as the Synthetic Training Integrator for Team Fisher, Elbit Systems UK will also introduce new and upgraded simulation systems to transform training, and to support Team Fisher’s aim of bringing better trained sailors to the front line faster.

Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK said:

Elbit Systems UK is proud to have reached this key milestone in delivering transformational training capabilities for the Royal Navy, as we formally take control of the systems crucial to the effective training of our Naval forces. As part of this, we are delighted to be welcoming over 60 new personnel into Elbit Systems UK, to support our ongoing work for the UK Armed Forces.
