The opportunity:
We are are looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team. As a Procurement Officer you’ll have a varied role - from administering and overseeing the process of purchase orders to obtaining quotations, agreeing terms and conditions, securing order acceptance and tracking of performance.
What will you be doing:
As a Procurement Officer you will be:
- Building relationships with suppliers to effectively support in the facilitation and management of the supply chain process
- Assisting in supplier evaluation and selection, reviewing tenders, pricing, frameworks and quotations, to ensure the most effective supplier is chosen
- Monitoring supplier performance, progress chasing when necessary and resolving or escalating issues and problems to ensure an effective supply chain with on time and on quality delivery
- Negotiating, as required, with suppliers to agree prices and terms to ensure cost effective and efficient supply of requirements.
- Identifying alternative suppliers when necessary and monitor supplier risk and financial robustness to ensure continuity and consistency of supply.
Skills for success:
- Experience in a buyer, purchasing or procurement role
- A keen eye for detail
- Strong written communication skills
- Previous experience dealing with suppliers
