What we're looking for:

Due to our recent success securing multiple new contracts, we now require talented individuals to join us on this exciting journey.

You will act as the Selborne project simulation training support engineering lead, making decisions within the responsibility framework set by the Transition & Service Programme Manager to maintain the contracted service levels; Liaise with RN/MOD/Team Fisher personnel to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Providing advice to the RN training staff and desk drivers on the operation of the supported simulation systems and performing Line Management duties for the ESUK Site Managers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the ESUK project Selborne training simulation support engineering lead.

  • Ensure, day to day, that all supported simulation systems in the area are provided with first line support to meet the agreed utilisation pattern.

  • Ensure daily simulation system usage and availability is recorded, including start/stop times and problems/defects reported, for each supported system.

  • Oversee day-to-day planning of the area staff/resources to ensure the availability of all supported simulation systems, and report immediately to the Transition & Service Programme Manager.

  • Maintain a utilisation programme showing all periods of planned training, maintenance, defect Investigation, upgrade installation activities, obsolescence technical refreshes including resources available including planned leave periods.

  • Participate in any Change-related processes as required, under the direction of the Transition & Service Programme Manager.

What we're looking for:

  • A broad understanding of engineering; encompassing hardware, software and systems including servers, databases, networking and software licensing technologies.

  • Experience of Combat System Equipment and associated naval architectures as employed on Royal Navy (RN) submarines and warships.

  • Able to administer, maintain, rebuild and repair PC based systems

  • Familiar with safety, security, ITAR, quality and configuration management control processes

  • Understand maintenance principles of A, R and M.

  • Working in a Defence environment, specifically with the MOD or RN.
