ESUK Aerospace and Simulation – Head of Delivery (JFST)

The Head of Delivery will manage the team and be the Site Manager and custodian for the Customer at the dedicated Training Facility within CT3 (Larkhill, Wiltshire). In this role, the Head of Delivery – JFST will have the responsibility to ensure that the capability delivered is maintained and supported In-Service.

The principal responsibility and objective is management of JFST within Business as usual whilst ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Programme Milestones and deliverables are met within the agreed terms of contract including timescale, specifications and quality, to the satisfaction of and acceptance by the customer. 

The Head of Delivery (JFST) must achieve and maintain the highest possible level of customer satisfaction, positivity and a pragmatic approach to problem solving as well as to secure ESUK A&S interests at all times.

The Head of Delivery (JFST) is responsible for working with the Project Manager, Technical Manager, Training Management Team and Field Service Engineers with respect to quality, schedule, cost and allocated risk budget associated with contract fulfilment of the project. In addition, there is responsibility for coordinating resources to execute the specific tasks on multiple sites.

The Head of Delivery (JFST) is responsible for conducting Site Surveys and assisting the Technical Manager in compiling the Consolidating Formal Requirements Document (FRD) and discharging these requirements through the Field Service Engineering Team. This will include updating and maintaining the system documentation through configuration control.

The Head of Delivery (JFST) is required to develop networks and build key relationships at ESUK A&S and the wider group companies to obtain ‘buy-in’ and cooperation in order to achieve objectives and fulfil responsibilities. Interfaces and communication shall be with all stakeholders.

Security Clearance Requirements SC (In line with ESUK A&S Ltd Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity & eligibility to work in the UK)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
  • Ideally educated to degree level in an Engineering or Business discipline
  • Formal PM Qualifications or experience of delivering complex projects, particularly in a Services environment
  • Knowledge and experience of In-Service Support, ILS processes and procedures
  • Ability to conduct ILS tasks to quality, schedule and budget
  • Proven experience of planning and executing performance based contracts
  • The ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the In-Service Support of Defence related equipment
  • Proven experience of effective team management
  • Experience across the full Product Life Cycle
  • Commercially astute with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and Senior Management in a confident and professional manner
  • Providing robust leadership to build a team and customer confidence
  • Provide timely Reports and Escalation to Management on the progress and performance of the projects for which you take full responsibility, engaging all Project stakeholders ensuring strong communications are established and maintained
  • Work with the management team to ensure that all suppliers are fully engaged and managed to deliver their requirements within allocated budget and schedule
  • Good understanding of Project/Programme Management/Bid Management
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and written presentation/report writing skills should be developed to management level
  • Strong administrative, organisational, managerial, leadership and team working skills
  • Full proficiency in the use of MS Office toolset
